Once again it is time for the Toys for Kids Motorcycle Parade! For the 35th year, Toys for Kids Motorcycle Parade is asking motorcyclists join the parade to bring joy to kids throughout Dona Ana County.
The 35th Annual Toys for Kids Motorcycle Parade will take place November 22, 2015. The parade will once again end at the Las Cruces Convention Center at the corner of University and El Paseo.
The fun and traditions continue with the bike show, live music, door prizes, grand prize drawing, raffles, a silent auction, vendors and more! Motorcyclists will gather and register at Mesilla Valley Mall from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30; participants can also register at the Convention Center. The parade will leave the mall at noon sharp.* To participate in the parade, motorcycles must be street legal, registered and insured. If you don’t have a motorcycle, join us at the Convention Center! We are asking non-motorcycle drivers to park at NMSU, or Pioneer Bank on the northeast corner of El Paseo and University to allow bikers to park in the Convention Center lot. A donation of $10 and a new toy valued at $7.00 or more per person gets you a meal and two beverages, plus the chance to win a door prize and the grand prize. If you don't bring a toy, you will be asked to contribute $7.00 toward the purchase of a new toy.
The primary beneficiary of the Toys for Kids Motorcycle Parade is Tresco TOTS, the only non-profit early intervention agency in southern New Mexico. TOTS provides physical, occupational, speech and developmental therapy, among other services, to children from birth to three years of age who have, or are at risk for developmental delays. So, toys that encourage the development of fine and gross motor skills, language, thinking, music, and creativity are great choices. Due to the tremendous support we receive, many other agencies in the area have received toys from the TFK Parade. Last year at least 22 non-profit agencies and hundreds of Southern New Mexico children benefited from the TFK parade!
If you’d like to donate toys but are unable to make it on November 22nd, you can drop off toys at Tresco TOTS, 2325 E Nevada or Wheelsport, 105 Hanks Dr. in Mesilla Park.
The Las Cruces Police Department escorted parade leaves the mall at 12:00 noon traveling south on Don Roser, turning west on Missouri to Solano, then south to University, finally turning west on University ending at the Las Cruces Convention Center.
Over the past 35 years, dozens of non-profit and family service agencies as well as thousands of children have benefited from the Toys for Kids Motorcycle Parade.
